Anime Flashback – Gundam Wing
Gundam Wing – from the Gundum series of anime, a storey of 5 boys from the outer colonies of space..Hero Yuy, Duo Maxwell, Trowa Barton, Quatra Raberba Winner, Change Wufei. I imagined myself every one of these boys at a time, and boy do I wish I could relive the feeling this cartoon gave me!
These were my cartoon hero’s for a few years in high school when cartoon networks then budding anime section, toonami, aired this series in 2000 and changed my life forever! Talk about a well developed universe, storey, characters, fight scenes, love scenes, everything! I literally went bonkers for this cartoon, living out the scenes internally as I watched them on the screen. Religiously I watched every episode after school when it came on around 5pm central time. I would fight with my parents if they attempted to feed me or distract me from my watching experience.
I don’t know what it was that drove me so fanatical about this cartoon but I was obsessive. Perhaps the fantasy, perhaps the action…perhaps it was the combination of every element woven so well in this cartoon that made me lose myself for a half hour each day in a world where I could pilot a huge, realistic mobile robotic, “Gundam Suit” and destroy everything in sight!
This cartoon did everything right. It showed you camaraderie, it taught you about the politics of war, albeit in a fictional land and dealing with the complexity of earth and space colonies, it had romance, violence and destruction of unimaginable proportion, espionage, philosophy of peace, the newest technologies all heavily based on real science…
Ah the good days…
Did I ever mention I’m a huge fan of anime? Well If I didn’t, now you know. Another noteworthy anime cartoon, Dragon Ball Z, also deserves my mention.

Minjae Lee Art
Minjae Lee is a young South Korean artist whose work expresses a semi-disturbing inner tension that is tough to ignore, even if you feel that you’d like to. It draws you in with its powerful colors, halting imagery and clever juxtaposition of beauty, innocence and fragility with brash, loud and aggressive.
The 19-year old artist is mainly self-taught and uses old-fashioned tools — such as markers, pens, crayons, acrylics — to create his illustrations. He has yet to break into commercial success, but as his style is developing and improving each time new images appear, we will likely see a lot of him in the future.
What characterizes his work overall is drama. The ethereal females that populate most of his work exude a dark, organic tension, and it seems that even the brightest marker colors do not quite manage to save them from some sort of looming peril. Or are we, the viewers, in fact, the ones who are in danger? Whatever the case, we are drawn in, interacting on an emotional level, surprised, looking for something.
Minjae Lee’s penchant for dramatic expression is clear also in the work of those he admires. His favorite photographer is the 55-year-old Japanese Hiroshi Nonami, whose women are equally capable of telling a dramatic, dark story. Not surprisingly, Lee’s favorite fashion designer is the king of runway drama, the Gibraltar-born, 49-year-old John Galliano. – Tuija Seipell

My New Favorite Movie – Where the Wild Things Are
I know, im late….but this movie touched upon something every little boy and girl go through growing up…facing loneliness and making sense of love. Love is such a mystery. There are so many levels to love. Love can be for a friend, for a family member, for a toy, for a brother, for a sister, for a peice of food or for a special someone….love can be for a movie or for a vertain smell… love is everywhere at all times in a various form or expression. Its just us who arnte alway in tune with it.
When did we let go of our imaginations? Wen did we let go of our fascination with the world not only around us but also inside of us? This movie touches on so many real and emotional aspects of our existence. I think it is really well done and leaves you wanting more, way more.
It reminds me of a feeling I had when I was a young boy reading the Narnia chronicles by lamplight, listening to Enya and fantasizing i was the prince, or that i would one day wake up and meet Aztlan. Arn’t fantasies awesome!?
But more importantly, before my free thought writing takes me on a coarse way off topic….back to love. I guess love is what defines our happiness. If we have love in some form or another we feel more happy, if we are missing love we feel less happy. Yet how do we find love? Well…..perhaps love finds us when we express ourselves to others in kindness, acceptance, patience, compassion.
Its late, im sleepy, these are half baked thoughts i’d love to explore more in mysleep….goodnight

Photo Sets I’d Love to Do….
So yes, im becomming somewhat of a photo snob and I refuse to work with photographers unless they bring something to the table that can help me with myevolving portfolio and image. The photos being showcased here ooze sexy, fashion and my taste, plus visualy they do a great job of catching my attention. So, yeah….I want to replicate, to some extent, these photos.
